The official launch of the Secretariat of the Global Network of WHO Collaborating Centres for Nursing and Midwifery Development and the Investiture of Isabel Amélia Costa Mendes as the Secretary-General of the Global Network will be held in Ribeirão Preto on Thursday November 27th 2008. Representatives from Brazilian and international health authorities are expected to take part in the launch ceremony.

On November 28th, as a part of the International Symposium: Globalization and Social Determinants of Health: implications for the development of human resources and health systems (check out the events section), the ‘Global Standards on Nursing and Midwifery Education’ will be launched, published by the World Health Organization and developed in partnership with Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing.

On November 26th, Rho Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing is hosting its annual induction ceremony at the Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing (EERP-SP).
