The role of nursing in primary health care was theme for the majority of the discussions during the presentation of the workshops. According to David Benton, Executive Director of the International Council of Nursing, the efficient work performed by nursing professionals has an integrative philosophy and the quality in the sector will only be achieved with significant investments in the formation of professionals and with the capacity of hearing all the parts involved in the primary health care answering system. “When we think about primary care, we have to think globally and in an economic manner as we have many countries in the development process, where there are homeless people, natural disasters, and other factors that are directly linked to health care”, said Benton.
